NRA Political Victory Fund Endorses Shelton in HD 97 Runoff

November 26, 2007

Fort Worth, Texas – Today Mark Shelton, Republican candidate for District 97 State Representative, received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF).

“Mark Shelton is the right choice in this runoff election,” Chris W. Cox, Executive Director and Chairman of NRA-PVF stated.  “He is a champion for gun owners and a strong supporter of the Second Amendment,” Cox continued.

Shelton earned a position in the runoff by garnering over 4,000 votes in the crowded seven-candidate Special Election held on November 6.  The winner of the Runoff Election will serve out the remainder of former State Representative Anna Mowery’s term.  Representative Mowery announced her retirement in August 2007.

“Our Second Amendment rights are an integral part of the freedom and liberty we enjoy as United States citizens,” Shelton said.  “The National Rifle Association deserves our gratitude for working day-in and day-out to protect our right to keep and bear arms, and I am honored to have their support in this election” he concluded.

The Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, December 18, and Early Voting will be December 10 through December 14.
